Job description

We are looking for a Senior Scrum Master to support Agile delivery within a cloud-based data platform program for a client in the banking sector. The role requires strong experience in Agile delivery leadership, combined with a solid understanding of cloud-native development and AWS environments, ideally within complex and regulated environments.

The Scrum Master will facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove delivery impediments, and help engineering teams maintain strong delivery momentum while collaborating closely with architecture, operations, and data engineering teams, ensuring efficient delivery of solutions aligned with the needs of a modern data and analytics platform in the banking domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Scrum and Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives).

  • Support teams in maintaining delivery velocity and removing blockers.

  • Coach teams on Agile principles, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate delivery across engineering, architecture, and operations teams.

  • Support Agile delivery in a cloud-native development environment.

  • Ensure effective communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.

  • Help translate technical complexity into clear business outcomes.

  • Support coordination across multiple teams involved in cloud transformation initiatives.

Requirements

Agile Delivery Leadership

  • Strong experience working as a Scrum Master in Agile environments

  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and supporting team delivery

  • Proven ability to remove impediments and support team performance

  • Experience coaching teams in Agile mindset and best practices

Cloud & Technical Understanding

  • Good understanding of AWS architecture principles

  • Familiarity with:

    • Microservices architectures

    • Serverless environments

    • Containerization (Kubernetes / EKS)

  • Understanding of cloud-native development lifecycle

  • Basic knowledge of AWS services used in data and application platforms

  • Understanding of DevOps practices and delivery pipelines

  • Coding is not required, but the ability to understand cloud-based systems and delivery processes is essential.

Program & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Experience working in programs involving:

    • Cloud migration

    • AWS transformation initiatives

    • Data platforms / data engineering teams

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Ability to coordinate across multiple technical teams in complex environments
